I need a larger (heavier) tractor for haying (square baler with kicker)and for tilling. I am looking at an 886 International with cab for $8,500. The tractor has 5500 hours, TA, 540/1000 PTO, 360 engine, and is in reasonably good shape (starts well and does not burn oil). The tractor is currrently having the reverse gear replaced which is about a $2,500 repair job with parts. The cab has heat but no air and I realy wanted air becouse of the heat in my location (virginia). I figure with air and transportation I will have around $10,500 invested in this tractor. Does this sound like a good investment? Also, if anyone can help with reducing the price of the air install,i.e. know of after market air conditioning systems or has any suggestions I would appreciate it. Note: I realy like IH tractors and I have a good dealer in my location.
