If it is already out and somewhat clean does not take that long couple three hours or so . Ya need a couple special items , You need a way to compress the big spring to remove a snap ring , a piston ring compressor a seal installer . Then ya need the test fitting and a Hyd Pressure gauge that will read atleast 600 PSI for setting clutch lock up pressure once installed . Myself on that size tractor i shoot for 240-250 PSI on running temp oil or between 160-180 degrees . Doing the first one is always the tough one , and the hardest part of the job is replacing the two Teflon seals on the clutch drum and getting them squeezed back into shape after you have stretched them out to get them over the lips . This is best done after warming them in hot water or oil . Having atleast a I T manual helps when one has never been there before . If you were just putting in new clutches that is not a big deal as that is really just a snap ring removal , but repolacing the 540 seal requires the total tear down and fighting the heavy spring .
