The post on tractor tires got me to thinking about sizes. It's confusing to me.
From what I can find the sizes were supposed to have changed around 1960. I went out and did some measuring on old & new. The 11.2x24 is actually just a hair under 10. Small box below size says (10x24). Another is 12.4x24. It measures 11. Small box below says (11x24). An almost new 13.6x28 measures 12.2. No small box under it with a different size.
Width is consistently an inch less than tire size whether old or new so where is the change that was supposed to be there?
