Original carbs were 30 mm British Zenith VN or VNN. The newer replacements I've seen are more of a European Solex 30 mm design. I can't speak on how well they work since I'd never buy one at those high prices I see. All the parts are still available for the British Zeniths. Used on many small British cars besides the IH tractors. When new the 3414 either came with the "upscale" VN that had an accelerator pump and an economy valve, or the cheaper VNN that had both those features left out. Seems the new replacements also have them both left out. The lack of those two features slightly effects fuel economy and how well the throttle responds when you stomp on it. Most cars and trucks with carbs would be hard to drive without accelerator pumps. Since tractors are often used at steady speeds - it's not so noticeable. Having an accelerator pump also makes them start better in cold weather.
