A keyed ignition switch was not standard for a Super C. The ignition switch was an push-pull switch that hooked the negative terminal on the coil to the negative terminal on the battery through whatever else was in the string.
There are strings on this topic all over this site. Basically - To make your ignition work with a negative grounded battery, you need to hook the wire that goes to the positive side of the coil to the "I" lug on the ignition switch.
