Why does the programs leave remnants behind do gum up the works? Same reason the telemarketer doesn't listen when you say no and ask them not to call again MONEY. If they leave tool bars or links behind and you use them they get a few pennys from the sites you go to. The whole idea is they want to steer you to their product. The way telephones and the internet works allows people to approach you without you knowing who they are. Who do you think that ability appeals to?
