Well, when all said and done with the toyota highlander.
$5,900.oo to put in a USED motor with 90,000 miles.
$2,800.oo paid by Easy Care Extended Warranty
$3,100.oo out of my pocket.
Well, if I would have known how this was going to go down, I would have parked the dang thing in the driveway and picked up a junk yard motor like they did and figured out how to put it in.
The way Easy Care got out of it was to say I damaged the motor by continuing to drive it after it blew the head gasket. Crazy thing is, however it blew, it never registered to the thermostat. When I pulled over the water in the radiator was cool and even the heater core. I don't get it.
Anyway, I feel like I got passed around the campfire on this deal from both the dealership and the warranty folks.
Call it a rant, or a painful recollection, but if you ever get put in the spot to buy and extended warranty. well...
...and to think, this was suppose to be the summer of 641Dave. :roll:
