Nope. The parts books for MANY discontinued IH products are still available, online even. I believe we now have access to the same information that the parts guys do.
Unfortunately not all of the books are "in the computer." The 2000 and 2001 loaders are not available. IH made so many things over the years it's understandable that they don't have EVERYTHING...
Your IH parts guy needs to look in the actual PAPER books for the parts you need, at least to get a cross-reference for the seals and whatnot...
Your logic that you "can buy a lot of fluid for what a rebuild will cost" only holds up as long as the cylinder does. Eventually you will HAVE to get the cylinder fixed:
Instead of spending $125 on a fixed cylinder and $0 on spilled fluid, you spend $125 on spilled fluid AND $125 to fix the cylinder... Doesn't make any sense to me.
$125 is a far sight cheaper than a whole new cylinder, which is also a possibility if you let this go on too long (i.e. scored, can't be fixed).
