JD's post about plain pickups got me to thinking about the automatic power door locks on my Colorado. It's an 09 and I can't seem to find a way to program out the darned automatic locks. The book lists three options available for when they function but there's nothing mentioned about disabling them. I definitely DO NOT need to have the doors locked in my part of the boonies of NW Iowa and I feel I should have the freedom to decide if I want locked doors or not!
We had a 05, I think, Silverado as a service truck on the harvest that had power locks that I could program out. Has this program out option been discontinued? On this Colorado, there's a pause between the time I put it in park and the time when the doors unlock. Invariably I'm putting it in park and opening the door at the same time, only to goof up the locks. Then I'm fiddling with the buttons trying to find the one that will set me free. GRRRMPH! Jim
