I aquired three Hatz single cylinder diesels model E 79, this summer. Two are complete, one might be a parts engine, although it rolls over just doesn't have a starter on it. I also got some books/manuals with them, although lots of it is not in English. As I recall, the books cover several models of engines. I can check the books tomorrow, they are not in the house. I sure don't know much about them at all. Mine were mounted with water pumps which I have removed. Mine use starter generators on them, or at least that is what they appear to be. They definately have belt driven starters, I assume they also are generators, but maybe not. These had been mounted on trucks, so used the truck batteries and fuel tanks.
