I'm about to order a NAPA in frame kit but have a question about rod bearings size. The old bearings are std. size and I'm wondering if it would be smart to put the bearing in the rod and torque it down to spec. on the crank using plasti-gage(sp?) and if so would I need to put a little oil on the bearing when doing this? Do I need to do all four rods? The old M has not run for years and if I remember right the rods were not knocking. Am I wasting time checking the rods and should just order the size of the old bearings? What am I overlooking here?
