Hard to tell from here, but I can tell you this that it is not unusual for the dimmer coil to smoke until any residue is burned off. I will always remember when we had a new 706 standing in the shop on open house day at the dealer ship and a customer turned lights on, smoke rolled out and he quickly shut them off and walked away. I didn't say anything but it was normal for a newly delivered tractor to have some paint or crap on the coil and the smoke would pour out for a few seconds. Worst case would be that it burnt the resistor out and then you will just not have dim lights. If it isn't blowing a fuse you know you don't have excess current draw above fuse rating.
