Was almost done planting beans last night when the left rear wheel decided to take off on me, isn't there a country song there (you picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel????) Anyhow, I digress. The axle snapped off on the left side. That is the third axle I know of on that tractor that has snapped, the other two were when it was wearing a NI corn picker. I've been told that corn pickers were notorious for breaking axles. The last time and this time were the same axle, I stopped picking corn about 10 years ago so that axle doesn't have many picker hours on it, at least not from me. I called my dealer and they can not get them new from CIH anymore. How do I know if I am getting an axle that is not started already? Andersons in Bluffton has them but I want to get a good one.
