I have a 1930 Regular that we are having some issues with. When we belt it to another tractor it will pop off and we can get it to idle pretty good, when we try to rev up the engine it will spit and sputter and fall on its face. We have had the magneto off and rebuilt recently and I have put a new brass float and a new main tube in the carb. I set the float height so it is level with the line in the bowl. My question is if my timing is retarded too far could it cause this or should I be concentrating on the carb yet? If my float height is too high could this be the problem? When it idles it doesn"t smoke but it smells really gassy. I have tried adjusting the main screw on the carb but doesn"t seem to make a difference. Any ideas or comments are appreciated. Thanks
