Wow! That is a really nice assortment of Arisakas. I'm no where near that advanced in collecting, or knowledge. I decided I wanted to start collecting WWII bolt action rifles, as I had very nice Rem. 03-A3. All of my rifles have come from vets, or their families, and all have a story behind them. To date I have:
Remington 03-A3 Mosin-Nagant 91-30 Mosin-Nagant 44 Mauser K-98 Mauser GEW 98 Enfield Mark IV .303 Arisaka 99 (soon) M-1 Garand (Yeah, its not a bolt, but it was way too nice to pass over.)
I'd like to find a Carcano, but again, its tough because I want one w/ a story behind it. My favorite, the K-98, was brought back by a man who has since died. He was a BAR guy for a platoon, and they were outside Bastogne, walking along a meadow, trying to stick to the woodline, when a shot came from a "deserted" house. It killed one soldier, and a second shot wounded another. He opened up on the house w/ the BAR, to keep the sniper's head down. Part of the platoon flanked the house and made entry. They found a German in the attic of the house, lying prone, w/ the K-98 almost sticking out of a hole in the wall. One of my friend's 30-06 rounds had ricocheted off a hearthstone, went thru the ceiling, and killed the German dead, going through the bottom of his chin. The K-98 I have is the one he HAD. I'll be picking this Arisaka up next week, and I'll be in touch. Thanks for the replies.

Last niht I dreamed about the day that I plowed the field of about 10 acres over on what Jimmy and Dandy called the Ledbetter field. I was driving the 1948 8N Ford tractor that Jimmy bought in 48 new This was prebably in about 1951 and maybe even befor the house was built. This would have made me to be about16 years old and I drove the tractor for nothing and would have paid to drive it if I had had any money which I didn't, but neit
