Can't think of any. I'd just try to keep the driveshaft seated on the front end in the pilot bushing. At the very least, as far forward as you can keep it. As long as you have the clutch linkage undone, and throttle and choke links (and any electrical stuff) undone, it ought to come right away.
Apart from that the only thing I can think of is to look for a woodruff key between the flange and the tranny shaft when you take it apart. I can't remember if that is inside or outside the seal, but they have an awful way of gettin' away from ya.
And be sure to clean any mouse nests out of the torque tube while you have it off. Let us know how ya make out!
