Hugh MacKay said: (quoted from post at 03:45:01 11/06/07) Herman: 560s diesel or gas are never going to be worth big bucks. I junked mine in 1978 after two rods came through the block. IH wanted $4,000. at that time for a short block, and I couldn't see spending $4,000. on a tractor without modern day 3 point hitch and forward of rear wheel mounting. Besides the IH dealer offered me a 2,000 hour 766 for around $8,000.
We gave $1800 at auction this summer to buy back the family 560D. Was missing the seat and the steering wheel and wiring were junk but otherwise it runs extremely well and has brand new 16.9 rubber on the back and is otherwise complete (IH wide front, fast hitch, good TA and LPTO). She's a 63 also.
Gave $2100 for a 560 Gasser, complete, running, IH wide front, Fast hitch, good TA and LPTO a couple of months ago at auction. It needs a tune up and a few seals as it leaks like a sieve.
There was a fellow in town trying to sell a painted 560 G for 6400 earlier this summer... Paint job wasn't even that good. Don't know if it ever sold but has since disappeared from the corner with a for sale sign on it.

It was on one such Saturday in the early 1940's when Sam was 16 years old that he ended up in Dennison, Kansas to watch a demonstration of a new tractor being put on by a local dealer.
