I have what I belive to be a 1-PR picker. It has the white elevator if that helps. I feel it should be doing a better job of husking than it is. I would say 50-75% of the ears have one layer of husk on them when they are going up the elevator. Is this normal? I know I am shoving about twice as much corn through it as it was designed for, but I am going in low first with a Case 930 so I dont think speed is an issue. The husking bed is three metal rolls and three rubber rolls. The rubber rolls and the paddled track above the rolls do look fairly worn, but I am not planning on replacing either of them unless it is REALLY cheap and easy. Are there any quick fixes or adjustments to be made to improve the husking ability?
