The PTO (dual speed) will turn when the engine is off. So it isn't froze. And it turns with the engine running. But the valve to stop it doesn't work.
I pulled the drawbar support and dropped the valve from the bottom. The little pin is in place so the stem and control valve are together. but it just flops up and down.
Here are the problems, there isn't an adjustment nut and the top stem has the head broke off. A little below where it broke off there is a 1/16 hole that has a cotter key which is hooked to a bunge cord to activate it!! There also isn't a bumper spring under the big nut on top.
when I pull up on the stem even hard enough to squeeze the two springs under the control valve nothing the pto keeps turning with what seems like full power.
I am thinking the previous owner just ran it with the pto going all the time which isn't very safe i believe.
does this look like a rebuild? I am gonna get the missing parts and hook up a gauge next like the IT manual says.
