Think I found it. It's Bob's photo number 14, Farmall A/B stock wiring diagram. If this is what you're looking at, it's for a generator with a cutout relay, not a regulator. Any possibility you might have confused the field resistor and light dimmer resistor when you wired the switch box? If so, battery voltage would be applied to the generator field winding when the switch was in the 3 or 4 position. A good description of exactly what's connected to what would be a big help. Keith
