I have a SuperC converted to 12V. All new wiring harness. It has been running fine, but last night I noticed that when I turned on the ignition switch, the metal line on my TouchControl temperature guage got so hot that it melted the plastic covering on the line. It"s a new guage from OEM. My battery is negative grounded to the steering pedestal at the battery box. What could cause the metal tube of the guage to get so hot (too hot to hold onto)? Could the regulator in the alternator have shorted out? If not, any ideas on what"s happening?
