Now lets see here your rebuilding and engine that is a diesel and you don't have a book for the spec's . Well what about sleeve protrushion or stand out have you checked the counter bores?? what about valve ression what about all the stuff that you forgot . I have been building engines since i was a teenager and one thing that i learned form some of the best is ya don't go by memory read the book and all new parts are not the same so ya got six new sleeves that does not mean that the lips are all the same heck i have seen them be thicker and inorder to get them set ya had to cut the counter bore deeper or it was cut to deep so ya had to shim it up . way to much money to waste on a job not done BY THE BOOK . It makes a world of differance on how well the rebuild lasts.
