I've had this '48 "C" for 10 years and never heard it run till last night. I had never been able to get a spark out of the mag that came on the used engine I put in a year or so ago and finally gave up on it and swapped in the distributor from the original engine. I had to pull the battery box one more time and rewire it for dist positive instead of the ground for the mag but then with a little snort of carb cleaner it fired right up. Now I've got to put the gas tank back on and see what else needs attention. So for those of you with a long, long, term side project, don't give up, the blue smoke in the garage is worth it in the end.
