I just learned from my Son in Maine that my Grandson has officially "Hit the beach" in the good old U.S. of A. after completing his 2 year hitch in Iraq. It was a much more uplifting phone call than the one I recieved from him a couple of months ago when my Son called to say that the Mess Hall in Mosul in which My Grandson had just left 10 minutes before hand had just been hit by enemy fire killing 14 of his comrades. I hadn"t slept a full night uninterrupted since, and the anxiety level was one I can"t begin to explain. To know that he has returned safe and sound is, in my opinion, a testament to the power of prayer, as only by God"s grace do some of us get our heros back while others must endure unending and unimaginable grief. I know that to everyone else, he is probably just another soldier who was doing his job, and that may will be correct, because I also see him in that light, but he also is someone I love with all my heart, and the fact that he came back from harm"s way is cause for much celebration, at least in this household. It sure is going to make tinkering with the old Iron, and farming a lot more enjoyable this year.
