I'd like to clarify what I wrote. If you set the gap on the points, rotate the shaft to the next lobe and check again. continue through all 4 lobes. A bent shaft will show a difference in the measurements depending on how much bend there is to the shaft. This might also show a lobe that is worn more than another. --Steve
