9-Liter V8 vs. DV550

Hello! I work nights at an International Truck dealership in Saint Louis. We currently have an S-1850 in the shop for an engine replacement. It has the 9-Liter V8 diesel. Is this an improved version of the old DV 550 that was used in the 1468 and 1568 farm tractors? It does not have a turbocharger. Merlin
