I always thought that the 1206 was IH's first tractor with a turbo. I have been reading on a IH 4300 four wheel drive with a 817 cu.in. turbo charged diesel motor built in 1961-65 rated in 1962 at 180 drawbar hp. with 8 speed transmission ,road speed of 23 mph and in 1964 rated 214 drawbar hp. with 6 speed power shift transmission, road speed of 20 mph. If the 1206 was not the first IH with a turbo, does that mean IH was before AC'c D21 with a turbo? They said there were only under 50 ever built. Has any ever see one or know any more about them ?
