I have disassembled several MS carbs, and they will come apart eventualy. Use a good penetrating oil, like PB Blaster, Kroil, or such. Let it soak in around the brass parts, then use a 6 point socket or wrench. Try tightening a little first, then loosen, thighten again, loosen. If it doesn't move add more penetrating oil, and wait. Try again. 6 point tools only! For the screwdriver slots, be sure the blade is the same width as the screw, and fits snuggly. The brass is soft so it must be treated gently. Go slow. I have found that the T shaped tool used to install new ends on garden hose makes a nice large screwdriver bit for 1/2" wide screw heads. Use a copper kitchen cleaning pad, old dental tools, small wire brushes, or other scraping tools to remove deposits from the castings.
