I finally got around to replacing the bent PTO shaft on my 1942 B. I purchase a pto unit from a C to replace it with. Turns out, its not the same. So a simple R&R is not going to be possible. It does appear that I should be able to remove the PTO shaft from the C housing and put it into the B housing. I see the gear is pressed on to the pto shaft, does this have to come off to get the shaft out of the housing? And advice would be greatly appriciated. Did fine an interesting trick, note in the picture the string used as a gasket. It was used with silicon also. It was a good tight seal. Thanks Dave D Chico, TX
