In the spirit of Halloween I have to share my scary story.Reading the posts on tricycle stability reminded me of something that happened to me and I am lucky to be alive to tell it. It was dead of winter with snowstorm dropping 12 inches. Loaded up my C and blade and went to father in laws to blade driveway. Was done and loading tractor on trailer. With blade the tractor was to long for trailer so we back it on which means blade sits on storage box mounted on the tounge of trailer.Had chained down the rearwheels and went to get chain and binder for the front. Realizing I had put the blade down I needed to start the tractor to raise blade to lift lid on the tool box.Standing behind the tractor I pulled the ignition out and hit the starter.Tractor was a 12 volt conversion. She started on the first crank and the front end proceeded to lift up like a royal stallion. The top link of three three point proceeded to strain until it finally broke as I reached in and punched the button. And then it gracefully set itself back down on the front tires. The only injuries were the feelings of stupidity I was feeling and the realization of the graveness of what I had done. Never again do I start a tractor with out the foot depressed on the clutch. HAPPY HALLOWEEN
