No lead gas in pre-no-lead era tractor?

Not long ago I had to change the heads on a fellas truck. The exhaust valve seats were terribly cracked and the valves were sunk into the valve seats. The problem was no lead gas in an older pre-no-lead engine (no hardened valve seats). Has me sorta concerned about the 1949 Cub I just got. Should I be concerned about running no-lead gas in my Cub motor? Anyone have any problems running no-lead in older tractor motors? This motor is supposed to have very few hours on a rebuild and I'd hate to ruin it by using the wrong gas.
