I will be replacing most of the gears and what not in my 1947 H in the following weeks. Let me know if anybody needs a photo of anything. I am thinking of using heavy grease or light weight string to hold the sliding gears in place, while I drop the lid down. Do I grease or oil the bearings prior to bolting the lid down? How about the sliding shaft? Oil or Grease? I could use photos/scans of the parts manual of the transmission gears if anybody has them. I would trade for whatever. I am learning quite a bit about old technology from the 40's. We in America were genius when it came to the letter tractors. I am proud to work on such forgiving, tough equipment. I am proud to dig into a tractor and find clean original red paint deep in its guts. I rub my finger over it, and it gets under my skin. Scott
