The German diesel engine is generally a highly regarded engine. I don't know of any problems with them myself, have only heard good things. And the 706 is a good tractor, however for loader work you will learn to HATE the shifting if you have to go back and forth very much. I believe this can be helped by putting in the shifting unit from a 756. Also there is a company that makes kits that are supposed to help with the shifting - they advertise in the farm papers we get. As for the loader, a competent welding shop should be able to fix it either by welding what is already there or cutting part of the arm off and welding a new portion to it. Steven
