Good friend of mine had his 1958 Cub stolen this weekend.I was in a barn with the door closed but not locked. He had some kind of an aftermarket seat that didn't go with the tractor and a new 12 volt battery. They took the seat off and the battery and left them behind. He had a four wheeler and a 1 year old JD lawn tractor and tools and fishing gear that they never touched.I think who ever did it new just what they where after and when he would be gone.I wouldn't be surprised if they don't plan on stripping it down and selling the parts on E-bay. It was a real nice origonal condition tractor. And no he didn't have the serial number written down.So lock em up boys, there is crooks out there.
