IH300U IPTO Disengage lever

I leave my IPTO running in the winter because it howls with the brake on. I was thinking that I may be wearing out the bearing so I looked up in the manual on disengaging the IPTO during nonuse. The disengage shiftlever that is discribed in the manual is not on the bottom of the clutch housing where it should be. The raised shoulder for the stop bolt is there but no lever. There is a plug type large hex bolt next to it that looks like a plug that I turned to see if it was the shifter but it started turning out like a plug and it"s just to cold to experiment with that. Anyone have experience with the IPTO disengage lever on a IH300U and does it hurt it just to leave it run.
