Lost oil from crankcase (don't ask!), ruined one rod bearing/crank was all ready ground 30/1000. Local engine builder -race cars- is getting parts and work together, but everything takes time. I took the tractor apart over time and in stages. I am hurting for a systematic way to reassemble the beast. I should have kept records, video taped the steps, etc. etc. but at the time I didn't think it would be months before I could reassemble. I bought J&D Productions "Engine Rebuild for Farmall Tractors." It is a good "introduction" to general steps of overhaul for someone who has been inside a motor before. But is completely lacking in details. It is poorly organized, illuminated, photographed - should have hired a professional to run the scenes. Sorry for all the details. Other than go slow and double check everything does anyone have sound advice?? Hire an old mechanic! Do you know of any?
