On my 1956 Farmall 100, 5 years in the woods seems to have been not too harsh on this tractor. I drained the oil and poured it up in a 2 liter Coke bottle, just nice black oil, no water at all. No liquid was visible in the radiator, I opened the petcock on the engine, nice green coolant ran out. Refilled with a 50/50 mix. Sloshed some gas around in the gas tank and poured it out, cleaned the sediment bowl and screen. Cleaned the spark plugs and reinstalled. Cleaned/kinda filed/kinda scraped the points. Fresh 6 volt battery. Starter bendix wouldn't kick out, even on the workbench, even after cleaning and oiling. I decided to put it back on, and it now kicks out fine. I guess the starter wasn't spinning fast enough due to the voltage drop with the jumper cables I was using from the battery. Choked it and it fired the first try. Unchoked it and it started right up, runs amazingly smooth. PTO seems ok. Both lifts seem ok without a load. All gears seem ok, didn't move far due to a little problem with a rusted out valve stem hole in a front rim (welding a patch in and drilling a new hole 1/3rd of the way around the rim). This is all going pretty wonderfully. Can anyone give me part #'s (maybe Gates or something common) for the 2 V-belts or size specifications? Thanks for the responses, Paul Taylor taylorpaul56@hotmail.com
