I have a 1066 International with a DT-414 engine that is kinda of hard to start,it is not used daily and has some wear on it. The batteries run out of juice very quickly. It has the stock 2 six volts batteries hooked in series still on it. I have had the batteries & starter checked and they are still good and I have cleaned the connections and teminals at the starter and batteries. I have been told to replace the 6 volts with 12 volts and rewire both positive terminals to the starter and this would give a little longer cranking time and a little more cranking speed. I can get the 12 volts batteries with the same case sizes as the 6 volts without any problems and was wondering if anyone else had done this to these tractors with the long slim batteries
