I responded to a serial # question in the Oliver, etc. forum about the Co-op 3. After looking it up in tractor data, it occurred to me that it might make a decent classic puller. Any experience or opinions on this? TIA gm :)

that is an older version of a co-op 3. from 1948 and on Co-op was a rebadged and painted
Cockshutt. 3 was a 30 and 4 was a 40. at least some of them

2.7 mph is what I got from tractor data on one gear second was 0ver 4+ is that what you got ? Think thats what I remember .
Engine
I like the smaller ll bore and long stroke .
Id say try it .idont you want to put alot of money in it till you pulled with it awhile ,get a benchmark and then make up a list of improvements and cost associated with it.
If it was the hot set up you can bet everyone would be clamoring to get it.

theres one of those that pulls in our club once in a while.with short tires it does better than a guy would think!this one always spins out,im not sure if its modified any, probably not.he pulls stock non cut tire class.

The post war- after WW11 were built in 1948-1951, appro. 1250 units were built, they had 30'' rear tires on them. the Chrysler flat head is 251 cid, a 265 will fit in, the motors will make fair HP, the weak part is probably the rear axels as they can break if the tractor starts hopping. Parts are limited only to your machine shop skills. If your a 1st gear puller the additional RPM's will make them go right along
