Breaking parts is more about the torque than HP. Torque is limited by wheel spin.

A higher HP engine can pull a higher gear but, unless you add weight to the rear wheels they spin at the same axle torque. The ring and pinion are turning faster but the load is pretty much the same.

Add weight to the tractor, shift down a couple gears and the ring and pinion see a significant increase in load since the rear wheels require more axle torque before spinning.

Therefore, if you are going to add HP and run the same weight
class, I would not be concerned about about breaking the rear end.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info, think its the heavy as it has the newer style brakes and center section and axel housings are out of an industrial. Don't beat me up about it being an industrial as it was in real bad shape, engine, wheels, sheet metal all junk or missing.
