Starter for Case 700 puller

Guys need a starter with a bit more pizzazz. The stock starter on the 700 isn't cutting the mustard. I know the diesel starters would do the job, but to be done right you have to change the ring gear. Don't really want to split it again just for that. Tried looking for a starter off of a 900 or 930 gas with no luck. Any ideas.

Thanks in advance.

There are 16 volt batteries used in various forms of racing for increased starting power and to maintain the voltage level to high power ignition systems. The batteries are costly and you will also need a charger for same. However, the extra voltage would perk up your existing starter. Google, Jegs, Summit Racing, etc.

If your problem is mostly at cooler temperatures you might consider a battery warmer for your existing battery. At 80 degrees F a battery is at 100% starting power, at 32 degrees F the starting power is reduced to 65% starting power.

Use 2 12 volt batteries in series to start it. Run the coil off of only one 12 volt.
The starter can handle 24 volts for a short burst to start it.
I had a 1974 f250 with a sloppy 360 in it. When it was -30 back in 1980and I needed firewood I hooked three 12 volts together to start that pickup.

A Leece-Neville (Prestolite) M105r2517se will work with your 137tooth gas ring gear. for the 139 tooth dsl ring gear a Denso starter for a Navistar DT466 will work. If you can't find the Leece Neville they are available locally around here.

I bought a warranty return unit for $220 but a new one may be over $300. It is a planetary gear unit reduction starter.

Thank you for the tip. I will be on the lookout for one down here. Not having any luck so far.
