Hi guys! Brand new here to this forum. I recently purchased an unstyled John Deere G. I didn't really know what I was looking at on a couple of modifications until I did some research. Seems this old G was used for pulling, and has either a bad head or block because water is getting into the pistons. Anyway, what I would like to know is, why is the seat bracket shortened? Someone has cut part of it out and welded it back together, and I saw on another site that his is a pulling seat.

Thanks for your help!

Most pullers replace the heavy seat bracket's with a lighter home made one. I like mine shorter, put's me closer to the control's. just my preference.
