Looking for pistons to rebuild a vintage 1928 6cyl low compression engine....the problem is the compression height of 2.75---2.85"
It looks like some of the John Deere pistons might work. Yes, I've called all the major piston manufactures and nobody has anything that "tall".
Farmall, Alice Chalmers, John Deere, doesn't matter which brand.
Asking this group because it looks like--visually at least, the high compression pulling pistons may work and you folks have more experience with these specialized pistons that might fit the bill or be trimmed off on the top to get the height I need..
Possibly the raised areas around the dished tops could be turned off to create a flat top??
Just looking for a solution or good advice.
Thanks !!
