Good year radials for pulling

My son got a set of good year radial 20.8 38 tires given to him. They have about 3/4" tread. Would these be any good on a 4010 for pulling in the stock class? We have 18" rims to mount them on.

What tread pattern? If long bar short bar, they will only work well on gravel tracks, not so well on hard clay.

They are long bar short bar I believe but with them worn this far down all the bars are about the same length

This is what I mean by LB SB.

(quoted from post at 02:43:12 04/26/16) If I was going to pull against you I would say go ahead and use them.

We also have a set of 20.8 38 firestone bias deep tread tires that don't have much tread but are road worn. Would these be a better option?

People I see that pull with these tires never do as good as a similar tractor with firestone F&R's. That long bar short bar tire isn't good on pulling tracks, in my opinion.

Given the choice I would run the Firestones. Bias vs. radial doesn't make much difference, as the pressure is typically too high pulling for a radial to flex like it needs to. If your tracks are normal "good" pulling
tracks, the Firestones will grip much better. I run Goodyears, it hurts on hard tight tracks, but I pull on enough lousy tracks (read the driveway at the elevator) that it averages out. Also be sure your drawbar is
as high and short as the rules allow.
