Max stroke for Ol 310

What is the maximum that a Oliver 310 gas can be stroked? I understand the factory stroke is 4 3/8 inches, is it possible to stroke the 310 gas additional 2 inches, which would be 6 3/8 inches? Appreciate any input...thx gene

I plan on having custom rods made with the crank welded and would only be interested in a partial dry blk. thx gene

Anything is possible. Probably have to move the cam. I got dowell pin the same size as the mains. Long enough to span two mains.drilled a hole in the center for a lag bolt. Then a short one for the rod. Try a Honda rod big end. Then make 1/8 X 1 links. Like one 3 in. See if it will turn. = 6" stroke. Think will need a billet can. Won't be much left. There is a bigger block to start with 320. Then another one bigger yet. The meanest antique in the world winner has the bigger block.

I think that adding 2" of stroke (out to 6.375") with weldup and offset is risky on a 6 cylinder oliver crank. If you want that much stroke, then you should look at a billet crank for that setup.

Goldsburg, From your input and other I have talked to,,I am thinking about stroking the Ol 310 to only 6 in overall...Who do I need to consider to build the rods, pistons, and grind the cam?? thx gene

If going with a billet crankshaft, how large of a stroke is possible? What would you use for the rod journal diameter?
