Jon, I grew up in the great state of Iowa [my heart is still there] and now live in PA for the last 27 years. Cedar Rapids was my hometown. My Dad still lives there and enjoys going to Sigourney to watch every year! He fills me in on the action.

We use two sleds.
1. Pull back-all weight transfer for the 3mph non altered tire class-319 hooks this year
2. Self propelled sled-this is a medium sized drop pan sled. He stops all our cut tire classes-309 hooks this year.
Last year, some of the 3.5mph and 6mph guys complained about the drop pan. So this year I asked if he could use
the weight transfer more for the mph classes and drop pan for our 15mph and open classes? So what he did was
lowered the front of the pan from the beginning. He thought that the 3000lb tractors might have a hard time
getting it to move. But they didn't and he kept the pan down for all the classes. So it turned out to be more
weight transfer stopping than drop pan. It seemed to slow down the fast tractors as their speeds were down from
last year. But no one complained to my knowledge for this sled setting. Slow and fast tractors were happy with
this setting.

Hope all this made sense? I would like to come to your pull sometime but it is during my busy season[lawncare]

Brad,
I have to be honest and admit I do not like drop pan sleds for antiques. I have pulled the Enforcer sled before at another pull and the pan was dropped hard. It was so much more enjoyable for me pulling the way it was set up at Harrisburg. You and the Sled operator in my opinion made a good call and I am glad the light tractors could move it OK. I believe many antique pullers like myself pull in clubs that don't have drop pans and that is what you get used to. I also think drop pans on antiques can cause severe track holes where everyone is spinning out in the same place. Again this is my opinion and I am sure some disagree but my hat is off to you for listening to the fellow pullers.

Thanks again Brad and hope to see you at a pull soon. Come on down sometime and pull with us at CVATPA. Our guys would love to see those Cases going down the track!
