Nittany Antique Machinery Association

I was looking into attending the show this year and had some questions.

From the youtube video's of the tractor pull I watched, no one was using suit case weights. Are they permitted? What weight classes are pulled, tire restrictions, pto required? Will rules be posted to the website?

When could we expect a schedule/itinerary to be posted to the website? Maybe a contact person as well.

Thanks, Hope to see you there

its just a pull for fun with no suitcase weights allowed and only one pull per tractor per day and whatever class it falls into.

When I've come down to Penn's Cave for the antique show, there have been all varieties of tractors pulling in the afternoon. Some right out of the barn that couldn't budge the sled to others that have been at the Harrisburg pull. Is there a rule on maximum hitch height or anything like that?

Were you not the guy that did the great mod and port job on an A head awhile back. What sort results did you get in the end with. Be interested your thoughts.

The tractor runs very well, but I don't have a dyno to know if the head work actually improved the HP. 7.5:1 comp ratio, 6-1/8" bore x 6-3/4"stroke, runs on 93 Sunoco. "Seat-of-the-pants" feel is that it is quite a bit better than stock. Only took it to one pull so far, pulled 7,000 in 3rd gear, but with 13.6 tires, probably not much of a challenge. If the snow melts, plan to tow down to Harrisburg using 14.9 Firestone 151's in the 3 or 3-1/2 mph class. This is my first tractor, so I'm not a puller, just a guy with a tractor and if I can't get the balance right, the motor won't make much difference.

Thank you for your reply. I was interested in your earlier post and pics because I have been working on a head for a 51 G. I followed what you did and took some ideas from what David Vizard uses on his heads. With .090 over and a Josh Blackburn cam grind it makes good power, not 100hp but I hope to have some fun this summer. It is great that you and others share their work and ideas.
