Will this set up work? 9N's do not have a fixed drawbar..

I would think that should be O.K. You will need a sherman underdrive. And you will be outclassed in anything above 2500 lbs.
I pull a Ford 640 in 3000 lbs. and the 8ns don't even come close.

(quoted from post at 20:53:37 07/24/08) Hi Sean,
Bobby Georg is running the pull at Anhalt. According to the flyer they sent out, his # is (830)438-2640.

Thanks I sent email to the email addy on the anhalt website but have not heard back from them.

Those tall lugs on those tires look to be a problem ! They need to be road worn old tire , 20-30% left on them.

I have been told that guys flip the rims from side to side so the tread direction is wrong and drive it on cement to ware them down.

We cut our tires so the fix is easy.

The rules usually call for a 3 inch opening for the hook to go into. Just measure the thickness of your drawbar to make sure that you get one that fits.

Thanks...Ill stop by TSC on the way to the pull and get one...

No twisted clevis. Flat plate with at least a 3" opening bolted on. Make sure the height off the ground is as much as possible. Around here its either 16 or 18 ' to the top of your plate. Make sure your cross bar is level. Your picture shows yours higher on the rt. side. you won't go straight. Drop the air pressure to around 7-8 pounds. If the front doesn't come up some, take off your front bumper and add weight some other way. Make sure the tractor weighs as much as the class allows. Grind off the throttle stop so you can get a few more RPM'S. If your gonna pull it much, invest in a drawbar that attaches under the tractor.

You can buy a under drawbar at most any TSC or farm type store for 8-n's. I would think 9-n's are the same. You can order one on-line for around $95.00. Call 765-758-2309 for a free catalog.
