70 upper water pipe

I'm going to have to replace the upper water pipe as it has "perished". I have a loader mounted more or less permanently. Is there a there a technique I can use to replace the pipe without removing the sheetmetal. Is there enough room at the "ends" to disconnect the thermostat housing, work the new pipe into the upper and lower ends and have though "extra" to slide the thermostat housing back down the pipe enough to bolt it back up? Any thoughts would be appreciated!! Great time of year for this to happen, isn't it? Thanks!

You need to remove the bolts for the water outlet on top of the block, after you remove the two bolts that hold the fuel tank support and remove the hood bolts . Then try to pry the water outlet to the rear and hopefully from the radiator first . It will be stuck and a lot of pring to get it out. Then with new O-rings and grease slide it back together . Sounds easy but believe me it wont be !!
