Hi, I purchased a Deere B Sunday and have some issues I need to fix.

First, the high low range won't stay in low range and the lever is in the way of the clutch lever when it's in low range.

I opened up the gear and believe the detent for this is not adjusted properly to get the gear in when the detent falls into place. Doe anyone know how to adjust this? The transmission looks good as far as not having shaving everywhere.

How much slop should be in the gear if I jack it up and spin the tires?

I have a bearing/grinding noise coming from the pulley/clutch. How do I get into it to see where that noise is coming from?

The steering has play in it. Took the shaft covers off, it looks ok and the bearings are in place. How can I fix this?

It's kinda difficult to diagnose your transmission problem without seeing it when you've got it opened up....my guess would be he countershaft
bearings might be excessively worn allowing too much endplay in the gearstack running on it. You should be able to adjust the clutch lever
linkage so the lever doesn't come so far back when you disengage the clutch....but then there again excessive wear of parts might make that
not work. The pulley noise could be several different things, You'll probably have to remov the pulley and check things out. The steering
should be helped if you rotate the eccentric bushing under the sector gear. Really for all these problems you better at least get some sort of
service manual and read up on the repairs you gonna need....or get professional help from someone nearby.

Get that Clutch repaired immediately..! Delay will only cast you in parts and in the mean time someone can get hurt...
